Brass Chandelier: 7th century AD |
The chandelier is in the form of a pierced disc with six circular perforations. Three chains attach the disc to a cross which is in turn fixed to a single chair suspended from a larger cross. Such chandeliers could be used to illuminate both churches and private houses.
