Limestone Grave Slab from Cunha parish, Montijo, near Setúbal: 12th or 13th century AD

The circular grave-stone has a Maltese cross at the centre, perhaps referring to the Knights Templars who played a part in the liberation of Portugal at the end of the First Crusade. A Romanesque type of grave-slab with similar semi-abstract decoration is widespread in England.
