Digital Archaeological Reports is a service provided
by Alan Vince with technical support from Paul Tyers (Perl, CGI scripts,
basic philosophy) and Rob Sands (java, javascript).
Our aim is to further the use of the Internet within
archaeology by making 'grey literature' generated by UK field archaeology,
such as:
assessment reports
desk top studies
specialist reports
guidance notes
supporting data
available as web documents, for use on the World Wide
Web or private intranets (or both).
A digital version of the report by Network Archaeology
Ltd, for Lindsey Archaeological Services on behalf of Brauncewell
Quarries Ltd. Produced as a test case to show that 'client reports'
produced by commercial archaeological units can contain valuable archaeological
information that deserves to be more widely disseminated, and that this
can be done without the huge outlay needed to publish such reports on paper.
A digital version of the Management of Archaeological
Reports, produced for English Heritage, published on their Website
and mirrored in Internet
Archaeology.
