Fairtrade

Fairtrade logoAfter four years of hard work the Bicester Fairtrade Group has achieved its goal of making Bicester a Fairtrade Town. The group was formed in 2006 with the aim of attaining Fairtrade Town Status for Bicester, and has received the help and support of Bicester Town Council, local schools, churches and other organisations, including Bicester Vision Partners.

Becoming a Fairtrade Town will raise the profile of Fairtrade in Bicester and raise Bicester’s profile as a caring and outward-looking community.

Bicester Town Council passed a resolution to support Fairtrade and committed itself to making Fairtrade tea and coffee available at council meetings. The range of products available in local shops and supermarkets meets the Fairtrade Town target. In addition, churches, schools and other organisations and local businesses also use Fairtrade products.

We are always seeking to increase support from the business sector, including cafés and restaurants. If you use Fairtrade goods or would like to get involved, please let us know and get in touch with us by email to bicesterfairtrade@yahoo.co.uk.
