Low cost insulation in Bicester
Bicester residents can have cavity wall or loft insulation installed for just £49*, some can even get it for free. The discount is available due to Eco Bicester’s commitment to increasing the energy efficiency of existing Bicester homes on top of the district wide £99 scheme.
Either cavity wall or loft insulation can be completed for just £49 and both are available for a combined price of £98 - far cheaper than the standard cost of £150 to £500 each.
By installing the two types of insulation the average household could, at current prices, save in excess of £300 per year on their fuel bills. Installing double glazing can cut heat loss by around a tenth but having cavity wall and loft insulation installed can almost halve it.
At some point this year the Government is expected to withdraw Carbon Emissions Reduction Target (CERT) funding which pays for part of this deal. In its place, there are plans to introduce a new scheme called the Green Deal – effectively a loan which will need to be paid back plus interest. So this is the best time to benefit from this council supported scheme.
