Souvenir teacup and saucer sold at Zacharias's shop in Cornmarket Street, Oxford. The coming of the railway age made Oxford a tourist attraction, and gilded teacups with University views were a standard souvenir. The Zacharias's were well-known as Jewish business people in late 19th-century Oxford.

The Zacharias's, retained their religious beliefs, which at that time would have involved travelling to London for funerals and important religious events. However they were staunch British patriots, as shown by this large Union Jack made for display over the shop.
