In
Greece most cooking utensils (pots, frying pans) were made of copper
until about 1960. Their production, trade and sale was practically
a Roma affair; consequently the craft of the coppersmith is thought
to be a Roma one. Similarly the repairers of utensils were usually
Roma. Greek housewives trust the hawker - Roma tinker - who serves
vast areas with his tools carried on his back.
